Curiosity Museum

Illusions, ghost hunting kits, Victorian Vampire Killing kits and more are featured at the new Curiosity Museum, based in Alton's historic Mineral Springs Hotel. From robots that watch you wander through the displays to the curious world of quack medicine, there is a bit of everything in this 1,500 square foot museum dedicated to the just plain weird. Included in the space is the Historic Museum of Torture Devices, which showcases displays of torture devices from around the world. Pictures and written explanations are part of this self-guided tour.

Admission is $6 per person.

We went to the museum and it is very creepy. All of the device's were used to hurt and mutilate people. It was also in a haunted building! more »
